The Govt. of Pakistan approved the license of Cannabis for medical, industrial, and commercial purposes. The first license of cannabis in Pakistan was issued to the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST). Three districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPK, and Sindh are suggested for Cannabis cultivation.
Impact of Approving Cannabis in Pakistan
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry announced this news on his official Twitter account. He said that this is the landmark decision. It will put Pakistan in the multibillion-dollar Cannabidiol (CBD) industry.
He also mentioned that the provincial government of KPK is planning to set up a medicine factory at the order of Prime Minister Imran Khan to manufacture medicine from hemp, cannabis, and hashish.
Recently, in the month of February, a video of Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Khan Afridi goes viral, In which he was telling about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wish to open a Drug’s Pharmaceutical factory in KPK. Every year a huge amount of Heroin, marijuana, and opium is seized and burned.
In another TV show, PTI’s Senator Faisal Javed also confirmed Afridi’s statements. He told that Shehryar Afridi was right. He also suggests the use of drugs in medicines because it indicates positive thinking. He was also opposed to the waste of hemp.
