Pakistani students at the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) with the collaboration of Rice Lab Pakistan developed Pakistan’s first AI software for analyzing the quality of rice. “Rice Quality Analyzer” is a machine that is designed with 7 features of rice that analyze length, thickness, weight, and broken grains with in 60 seconds.
Rice Quality Analyzer provides 99% accurate results. Software designed by Pakistani students at NED is more efficient than Japanese software. Compared to American software it is cost-effective. Rice Quality Analyzer has been developed according to atmospheric conditions of Pakistan. Pakistan is at the 10th number of rice producing in the world. Rice crop is an important foreign exchange for the economy of Pakistan. Good quality rice results in the higher prices. For many years, the quality of rice in Pakistan has been determined through eye and other different instruments. That method was really time consuming and also costs thousands of rupees.
On the other hand Rice Quality Analyzer will also increase the testing capacity for the local rice at minimum time and cost. Hafiz Ahsan-ur-Rehman has declared in the research associate at the NCAI and member of the Rice Quality Analyzer software development team that the achievement is a major milestone in the Pakistani rice sector. He said that they are also arranging advertising campaign for the Rice Quality Analyzer is underway. Bangladesh, Indonesia, India and China are giving encouraging feedback for the Rice Quality Analyzer.
